Album Review: Alex Clare - The Lateness of the Hour
Alex Clare - The Lateness of the Hour
Style: Soul singin with Dubstep
Pros: Different
Cons: can't think of any.
Overview: Alex Clare is probably best known for the song Too Close on the Microsoft commercial. It's rather glad to hear someone actually singing, without Autotune, on a Electronic Dance track. I am not the biggest fan of the Soul singing genre (It makes me feel like I'm in some hipster bar). However, the beats match so well to the singing in The Lateness of the Hour, that I find it rather refreshing (and also a good break from the usual fare I listen to). And that's probably thanks to producers Mike Spencer and Major Lazer. Alex Clare is one of those artists that's different enough to be cool, but also on borderline of hitting mainstream radio. So who knows if he will transcend to that realm... there's a distinct possibility.
Top Songs: Up All Night, Treading Water, Too Close
