The Social Network
Synopsis: Mark Zuckerberg and the explosion of Facebook.
Pros: Great Acting by Jesse Eisenberg. Interesting look on the creation of Facebook.
Cons: Some of this is fiction... they say.
Overview: For a movie that is strictly a drama, David Fincher's The Social Network, manages not to bore, but intrigue. The opening scene is a bit hard to watch because it's on speed, but that is just the inherent development of it's main character (is this really Zuckerberg? And this is why he doesn't want to watch this film?). Well, it digs even deeper as he becomes even more successful --who is very well played by Jesse Eisenberg (in which an Academy nod may be in the works).
The script by Aaron Sorkin is also sharp and tight, working well with David Fincher's mood lighting. I'll keep this short and say The Social Network will assuredly see some Oscar buzz around the corner. It also makes you think twice about using Facebook again.....
