Teen Dies After Attending Electric Daisy Carnival

The L.A. Times has reported that a 15 year old (it was a 16 and over event) girl died at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, of a suspected drug overdose after attending Electric Daisy Carnival at the L.A. Coliseum over the weekend. Full results won't be known until an autopsy and toxicology reports are done. Also, about 120 others were hospitalized for drug related causes.

Come on kids... you got to look out for each other. Party safe. And what the hell is a 15 year old girl doing at an event like this? The powers that be already want to shut down raves, and this will give them more reason to do so. They'll start associating electronic dance music events (if they already haven't) as drug parties, and they'll want to shut all of them down. All of them! It won't matter. These people wont care if there are a lot of people that party safe, because all they see is the end result... the one that grabs the headline. And you know how easy that is to sell to the voting public?.. Like cake.

Rave = Drugs = Bad
Solution: Shut down all raves.

Do you want that to happen?

And who knows how far they would go; stopping not just raves but anything with dance music. Thereby foregoing our First Amendment rights as long as Congress is winning the war on drugs.

That last thought may be too 1984, but it actually reminds me of that RAVE act that was proposed a few years ago to stop the drug use in raves. It eventually passed under a different name (Illicit Drug Anti-Proliferation Act) that somehow became subdued over the years because of some controversy and possibly the other things going on in society. However, with these new headlines, this act can easily be reignited.

So stay smart and play safe...
Look out for each other...
Bring the PLUR back people!!!
