Ridley Scott's new
Gladiator-esque movie that's also starring Russell Crowe, couldn't steal enough box office receipts from
Iron Man 2 for the top spot this weekend.
Robin Hood debuted with about $37 million, which may not look so good against it's reported $200 million budget. You can bet Universal is crossing their fingers on a strong international market (which it already has about $74 million).
Weekend Movie Estimates:
- Iron Man 2: $53 million ($212.2 million total) Budget:$200 million
- Robin Hood: $37.1 million ($37.1 million total) Budget: $200 million
- Letters to Juliet: $13.8 million ($13.8 million total) Budget: n/a
- Just Wright: $8.5 million ($8.5 million total) Budget: n/a
