Alice in Wonderland Stays On Top

Tim Burton's take on Alice in Wonderland easily remained at the box office this weekend with over $60 million. While Matt Damon's Green Zone didn't exactly pull in Bourne-like numbers, making just under $15 million. It's reported $100 million budget may now be a hard feat to overcome.

Weekend Estimates
Alice in Wonderland: $62 million (208.6 million total)
Green Zone: $14.5 million ($14.5 million total)
She's Out of My League: $9.6 million ($9.6 million total)
Remember Me: $8.3 million ($8.3 million total)
Shutter Island: $8.1 million ($108 million total)

A slew of new movies hit theaters this weekend trying to boot Alice in Wonderland from the top spot.

Green Zone
Why it might be a hit: Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass (who directed the best in the Bourne trilogy: Bourne Ultimatum), team up again.
Why it might tank: Is it Bourne all over again? Wait, it's not.

Remember Me
Why it might be a hit: Robert Pattinson in a romantic drama. Ooh, the girls will swoon.
Why it might tank: He's not playing a romantic vampire.

She's Out of My League
Why it might be a hit: Pretty well marketed for a small film.
Why it might tank: Looks like one of those movies that will be forgotten by next week.

Our Family Wedding
Why it might be a hit: Has an ethnic audience target.
Why it might tank: It doesn't look all that good

My Predictions:
Alice in Wonderland: $60 million
Green Zone: $18 million
Remember Me: $16 million
She's Out of My League: $10 million
Shutter Island: $7 million
