Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself easily took the top spot this weak September weekend, while Sorority Row and Kate Beckinsale's Whiteout just missed the top 5, barely making $5 million a piece.
Weekend Estimates:
I Can Do Bad All By Myself: $24 million ($24 million total)
9: $10.9 million ($15.7 million total)
Inglourious Basterds: $6.5 million ($104.3 million total)
All About Steve: $5.8 million ($21.8 million total)
The Final Destination: $5.5 million ($58.3 million total)
----
Four movies hit theaters this weekend, most of which I will probably pass on.
I Can Do Bad All By Myself
Why it might be a hit: Tyler Perry usually has a strong, consistent following for his movies.
Why it might tank: I have yet to see one of these films.
9
Why it might be a hit: It looks cool... a darker animated tale than most. Hopefully targeting the same audience that went to see Coraline.
Why it might tank: Reviews so far, have been mediocre at best.
Sorority Row
Why it might be a hit: People went to support The Final Destination, Halloween 2.
Why it might tank: Really, do I have to say why?
Whiteout
Why it might be a hit: Kate Beckinsale and a little bit of action and thrills.
Why it might tank: Seems like the studio dumped this movie on this weekend because well, the trailer doesn't really captivate anything.
My Predictions:
I Can Do Bad All By Myself: $25 million
9: $16 million
The Final Destination: $8 million
Whiteout: $7 million
Inglourious Basterds: $7 million
