Last month the executive committee of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said that The Dark Knight was not eligible to be in the running for a Best Film Score nod, because they believed there were more than two composers for the film (The Academy only excepts scores that are primarily from one or two composers). However, they have recently concluded that Hans
Zimmer and James Newton Howard were the primary composers of the film. So they have reversed their original decision. Oh yeah, and The Dark Knight is released on DVD and
Blu-ray today. How
convenient.
