Michel Gondry's latest film is a delightful treat. It's one of those movies that is build upon a great idea. Jack Black and Mos Def are good in it. They don't really shine in these roles, like they do in other movies, but they make it move at a good pace. My only drawback about this film is that I wish there was more to it. The plot has some holes in it and could probably use a little patchwork.
Gondry's style is very pertinent throughout; the opening crane shot alone is one to ponder about. And although this isn't as good as his other film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, it is much better than his other ones.
