Marvel Pictures' Iron Man, directed by Jon Favreau, is a welcoming popcorn film to start the 08 summer film fest. The story is much like Batman Begins, but this time, it centers around cocky and confident weapons maker Anthony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), who is kidnapped while presenting his latest creation to the military. While in captivity he forms a new superhero identity. Yes, it is a "coming to be" superhero movie. That is as much as I am going to spoil you, since it is based off the comic book and the story is essentially the same. I'll just cut to the chase; if you are looking for bad guy kicking action and a storyline that delivers, Iron Man is the one for you.
